Major update to ROI Print Manager for 2016
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – January 1, 2016. Print Control Software (PCS) today announced the immediate availability of a major update to its market leading print management software, ROI Print Manager (ROI). Version 4 offers a range of new features that will benefit existing customers and partners, as well as allow ROI to leapfrog its competition with the introduction of embedded applications for leading brands of smart MFPs (Multi-Function Printers), and more powerful mobile apps for smartphone and tablet users. Existing and new customers will benefit from a more extensive feature set, that helps organizations manage and control printing more effectively, leading to reduced costs and helping eliminate unnecessary waste.
Key new features include:
Secure Print Release for leading Smart MFP brands through embedded apps
Now users can access their print jobs at any Smart MFP supported by ROI Print Manager through an intuitive user interface (UI) accessed at the control panel of the Smart MFP. Not only does this improve employee productivity, it also addresses security and confidentiality issues from unattended print jobs being left for all to read at the MFP.
Cost Recovery & Billing
Now users or ROI can assign print and copy usage to specific Cost Accounts for Cost Recovery & Billing purposes. This is particularly useful in the Legal and Professional services sector, where firms need accurate billing information to recharge clients for print and copy usage specific to their case.
Mobile Printing
The new version of ROI sees the launch of new apps for users of iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. These innovative apps not only allow users to print from their mobile devices, they also allow user to authenticate at Smart MFPs to securely access print, copy, scan and fax functions, as well as view and release their print jobs at any network printer or MFP.
The ROI Mobile Print app is available from the Apple App Store for iOS devices, and Google Play for Android devices.
ROI is also providing native support for AirPrint for iOS devices, and Google Cloud Print (GCP), which is the main printing mechanism for Chromebooks. By using ROI to manage printing from mobile devices, customers will benefit from the ability to manage and control print output, by applying print rules and policies to control color printing or force duplex printing for example, as well as be able to track all mobile print usage across their entire fleet of printers and MFPs.
Guest & Hospitality Printing
As well as providing some of the most comprehensive features for addressing the challenges of printing from mobile devices, ROI offers an innovative solution to guest and hospitality printing, which is generally ad hoc in nature. ROI offers the ability for office visitors and hospitality guests to print virtually any type of document quickly and easily by sending documents as email attachments, or uploading them via a secure webpage from printing at nominated print devices. This solution is particularly useful at hotels and airports where people need to print tickets or maps or other documents for their travel needs.
